About Your School Council at Robert Hopkins
Robert Hopkins School Council is comprised of parent/guardian volunteers, a teacher representative and the school Principal and Vice Principal.
We meet once per month throughout the school year, usually the third Thursday of the month, to discuss what is going on at the school and to address any concerns at the classroom, school-wide or school board level.
We raise funds to support educational extracurricular activities, equipment and resources in the school, aiming to provide enrichment and an enhanced educational experience for students at every grade level.
Another one of our main goals is to enhance communication and cooperation between parents and teachers/staff, fostering a strong sense of community in our school. Notices of upcoming meetings, fundraisers and community events are shared through weekly school email messages, on Twitter, on the School Council pages of the school website, and on a bulletin board in the main hall of the school. We actively seek input and feedback from our school community. We always invite all parents, guardians, and school community members to attend our meetings – whether online or in person. When in-person meetings are permitted and possible, we provide free, onsite childcare during the meeting every month.
We encourage participation from our entire school community in our meetings and activities. We hope to see you at our next meeting or event! If you have any ideas for events or (virtual) fundraising opportunities, please reach out to us at [email protected].
